Die Autoren beschreiben in diesem Band Diagnostik, Differentialdiagnose, Indikationsstellung und erfolgreiche Therapie bei nicht tumorbedingten chronischen Schmerzerkrankungen. Sie möchten Psychotherapeuten für ein Engagement in der schmerztherapeutischen Versorgung motivieren und ihnen die dafür nötige Kompetenz an die Hand geben. Das Buch ist auch ein Leitfaden für das Curriculum "Psychosomatische Schmerztherapie" der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Psychosomatische Medizin und Ärztliche Psychotherapie (DGPM) in Zusammenarbeit mit der Interdisziplinären Gesellschaft für Psychosomatische Schmerztherapie (IGPS).The authors describe the diagnosis, differential diagnosis, establishment of indications and successful treatment of chronic pain conditions that are not caused by tumours. The aim is to motivate psychotherapists to become involved in pain therapy and provide them with the skills they need to do this. The book is also a guide to the 'Psychosomatic Pain Therapy' curriculum established by the German Association for Psychosomatic Medicine and Medical Psychotherapy (DGPM) in collaboration with the Interdisciplinary Association for Psychosomatic Pain Therapy (IGPS).
